Digraph Letters
Digraph letters represent sounds that are commonly written using two letters in English but are treated as a single phonetic unit in Rainian Phonetica.
They are formed using specialized diacritical marks.
Rainian Phonetica currently has six digraph letters:
| Letter | English representation | Example |
|---|---|---|
| s̄̄ | sh | ship |
| c̄̄ | ch | chip |
| t̄̄ | unvoiced th | think |
| t̲̲ | voiced th | this |
| z̄̄ | zh | measure |
| n̄̄ | ng | sing |
The two forms of th are represented separately because English has both a voiced and an unvoiced pronunciation.
